Super food is probably a term you have heard before. This term is used to describe foods that contain vitamins and nutrients that are uncommon or in a high concentration compared to similar foods. In this article I am going to talk about a few super foods and tell you why they are so good for you. Some of them you have probably heard of, some of them probably not.

The number one super food that most people have already heard of is the acai berry. This fruit offers a super high concentration of antioxidants. It also has dietary fiber, omega fatty acids, and even some protein. It is a very nutritious food and one of the most popular health supplements in the world. Pistachio nuts are the next super food I want to introduce to you. These little nuts are called the skinny nut and are really good for you. They are high in antioxidants, fiber, and protein. They are a great snack by themselves or they can be added to salads, muffins, cereal, and lots of other snacks and meals.

The first is the pomegranate. It has a very exotic flavor and has a lot of antioxidants. This fruit has gotten a lot of attention because of its antioxidant content.

The last super food is walnuts. While you have probably heard of it, you probably don’t know how healthy it really is. They are an excellent source of antioxidants, vitamins, fiber, and plant based protein. There is also a concentration of omega 3 fatty acids that is higher than other nuts.

So where can you get these super foods? Acai berries are probably best taken in supplement form because you will have a very hard time finding them fresh. Pomegranates are now becoming fairly common and available in many grocery stores. Walnuts are available in almost any grocery store. Pistachios are less common than walnuts, but you can usually find them at your local grocery store.
