You’ve heard all about antioxidants and how they can help you become healthier and lower your risk for developing cancer, heart disease and a number of serious diseases. There are many antioxidant-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables. In fact, one tiny fruit, the acai berry, is known for being a high source of antioxidants. Many actually call the acai berry a super antioxidant fruit.

This super antioxidant is native to the Amazon rain forest. Acai berries resemble grapes. They have been found to contain high amounts of natural antioxidants, prompting many to consider it as one of the most powerful natural antioxidants in the world today. Compared to grape, the acai berry has ten times more antioxidant content, and has twice the amount of antioxidants contained in blueberries. Just a small bite of this super antioxidant is enough for the body to have enough amounts of antioxidants and stabilize the free radicals present inside. The acai berry contains an antioxidant called anthocyanin. Anthocyanin is a type of phytochemical that is usually present in red wines.
